Three ways to get answers out of your library - full-text search across everything you've saved, Ask for cited answers over your whole notebook, and Chat over a context you choose.
Once you’ve saved a few sources, there are three ways to get something back out of them, depending on how sure you already are of what you’re looking for.
Full-text search
Search runs across everything in your library at once: source text, notes, and the insights Notebooker has generated. It is the fastest way to jump to a passage when you already know roughly what you’re after. Matches link straight to the place they appear so you can read them in context.
Ask
Ask takes a question and answers it over your whole notebook. Notebooker retrieves the most relevant material on its own, writes a grounded answer, and cites every claim back to the source it came from. A coverage strip shows how many of the documents it consulted actually made it into the answer, so you can tell a thorough answer from a thin one.
Use Ask when you don’t know which document holds the answer, or when the answer lives across several of them.
Chat
Chat works over a context you select. Pick the sources you care about and the model reasons over just those, in full. Because the context is smaller and deliberate, Chat is the tool for close reading, follow-up questions, and drafting from a specific set of documents.
A rule of thumb: Ask searches everything and finds what’s relevant; Chat stays inside the sources you chose.
