Usage, credit & budgets

What your monthly credit covers, how pay-as-you-go overage works with a budget cap that defaults to $0, and how bringing your own keys changes the bill.

Notebooker bills for what you actually use, and shows you the cost as you go. Your plan includes a monthly credit; anything past it is pay-as-you-go, capped by a budget you control.

What the credit covers

Your monthly credit goes toward both the AI and the service work behind each action, including:

  • AI usage - the models that chat, generate insights, and narrate podcasts.
  • Fetching and archiving sources - snapshotting pages, downloading media, and extracting text.
  • Storage past your included amount - keeping your sources, audio, and creator artifacts. Your first 5 GB is free; only bytes above that are billed, at $0.10 per GB-month, prorated daily. Or skip Notebooker storage for new files entirely - bring your own bucket and migrate what’s already stored.

Every action shows its cost, so nothing is hidden in a bundle. You can see a running total of what you’ve used on your Dashboard.

When the credit runs out

Heavy months roll into pay-as-you-go overage, and it’s capped by a budget you set. That budget defaults to $0, so you never spend more than your plan without deliberately opting in. Raise the cap when you want the extra headroom, or leave it and keep collecting until the next cycle.

Bring your own keys

Connect your own AI keys and those requests are billed by your provider directly, not against your Notebooker credit - Notebooker only counts Notebooker AI and service usage (fetching and archiving sources, and Notebooker-managed storage). Pair that with your own storage and the largest usage costs move onto infrastructure you already pay for.
